There are four separate costs for a web site:

• a one-time payment for development (design and creation) of the site,
• an annual hosting fee,
• optional domain name registration, and
• possible maintenance costs for the site to be updated.

Each of these are explained below.

Development
Because the cost of designing and creating pages for a web site varies according to the functionality of the site, and the amount and type of content included, we can quote a price for creation of your site only after receiving some information from you.  Use our estimate request form for a no-obligation estimate.

Interactive sites that perform some action in response to input, like storing responses to survey questions or performing searches based upon specified criteria, cost more to create than static sites that just present information.  Specialty features, such as custom-designed graphics or animated images, also add to the cost.  See sidebars for example prices for typical web sites.

Hosting
A hosting fee is required to provide space and network connectivity for your web site. Our basic hosting fee covers web sites up to 20 megabytes (most typical sites easily fit into this limit), one email address with a 10-megabyte size limit (in addition to your web site space), and monthly statistics reports. The statistics reports show the number of visitors to your site, the number of visits to each of your site's pages, where referrals to your site are coming from, and the query strings that visitors used to find your site.

In addition, typical maintenance updates are included free with the hosting fee. This includes occasional changes or additions of text and photos, but does not include frequent changes (more than a few times a year), changes to large amounts of site content, or addition of new pages or specialty features. Maintenance
Continually updating the content of your web site helps to encourage visitors to return regularly, and it's important to ensure that the information presented on your site doesn't become outdated. Occasional (a few times per year) changes or additions to your web site content are included in your annual hosting fee, so for many of our customers, no additional maintenance costs are necessary.

For sites where frequent or large changes are required on a regular basis, an additional maintenance fee will apply, based upon the type and amount of changes needed. For many of our customers, this is only $5 to $10 per month.

For changes to be made on an as-needed basis, a one-time price will be quoted for each instance.

Domain Name Registration
Registration of a domain name (the address that visitors use to find your site, such as www.yourcompanyname.com), requires an annual fee. The cost per year is reduced if multiple years are registered; the more years that are registered at once, the greater the savings. See sidebar for registration prices.

If you prefer to avoid the domain name registration fee, your site can reside under the Marizon domain at no cost, with your address appearing as www.marizon.net/yourcompanyname.
